MAKE the difference.
Studio So was born out of a passion to make a difference by being different. Founded by interior designer, Ruth Galloway and branding designer, Michelle Ridley, bringing together interiors and branding expertise resulted in a multi-disciplinary design studio where creativity, interiors and graphics meet. We intertwine our creative thinking, merging interior and graphic design in our approach; and it works!
Whether it's designing immersive hospitality and retail spaces, creating a window that wow's, a seasonal pop up or embarking on your very first journey our team works as part of your team to make sure every opportunity is maximised and you get a return on your investment.
Through Studio So, you have direct access to our in-depth knowledge and experience of the Hospitality and Retail industry. Through our work we have built and continue to grow a strong network of talented individuals who we collaborate with. They bring a wealth of insights, vision and quality craftmanship. With the Studio So team leading each project, you get to work with the best people out there right now who are at the top of their game.
Ruth began her career in interior design with a degree from Glasgow school of art. Her adventurous and curious nature led her to work in a variety of studios around the globe, from Bahrain & Dubai to New York, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Once settling her feet back home in Edinburgh, she set her goal of creating Studio So. Ruth believes in pushing the limits to create designs which bring brands to life, specialising in experiential and atmospheric interior solutions for the hospitality industry. She puts human behaviour at the core of her work and nurtures ideas to become bigger, better and most importantly a reality!
Outwith Studio So life, Ruth can be found checking out all the latest food spots and watering holes, or wandering around wild woodlands & beautiful east coast beaches!
Before nurturing Studio So, Michelle began her career over 20 years ago in advertising as a designer with a passion for brands. She believes in the power of brand experiences and human interaction and her pet hate is when branding and interiors are disconnected. After working in London and Europe, she was homeward bound for Scottish soil where she has continued to work in creative agency life.
In additional to her Studio So life, Michelle has a passion for beer gardens, an appreciation for beautiful craftsmanship and a S–So social!
Our clients often tell us that we're fun to work, down to earth and approachable and we make sure we work hard to keep that as we continue to grow.
